Woolpert Upgrades Its Airborne Digital Sensors To Leica ADS80s
18 January 2010
(January 18, 2010) Woolpert announced today that the firm has upgraded its two Leica ADS40 airborne digital sensors to Leica ADS80 airborne digital sensors to support the firm’s commitment to advanced remote sensing and digital imagery collection.
The ADS80 is an upgraded version of the ADS40 and provides increased resolution as well as improved hardware and engineering. Woolpert purchased the sensor head SH82 configuration, which allows for stereo viewing of infrared imagery to further support the firm’s advance remote sensing capabilities.
“Over the past five years, Leica Geosystem’s ADS technology has proven to be a leader in large-format digital imagery,” said Jeff Lovin, Woolpert vice president and director of geospatial services. “We have been both very pleased and impressed with the reliability and performance of this technology, which has been key in our decision to upgrade our Leica ADS40s.”
Woolpert has partnered with Leica Geosystems for imaging technology throughout the past 20 years, starting when the firm purchased the RC20 aerial camera system in 1989. Woolpert has completed many landmark projects using ADS technology, including several statewide imagery mapping programs and various large-scale federal projects, since the firm first acquired the ADS technology in 2005.
